Since we came on the scene almost a year ago, we've had the privilege to meet some amazing, inspiring women who work hard to get their products and messages out into the world. Let's get to know some of them!
Who: Lindsey Massimiani Pepe
Recovering Marketing Executive Founder and Owner of Studio Twenty Nine What: At @Studio_Twenty_Nine, we make jewelry designed to give you the confidence to be bold and unapologetically you. With a mix of bold and minimalist designs, there’s something for every style, every vibe, every mood. But Studio Twenty Nine is more than just a jewelry brand. I use this platform to empower women to feel like their best selves, and to support, celebrate, and promote other small businesses — primarily female-owned.
How it began: After 12 years in marketing, I lost my job as a marketing executive at the start of the pandemic. It threw me into a full blown identity crisis. So I started this business out of necessity and boredom; to open up a revenue stream, and to give myself a creative outlet. I always knew I wanted to work for myself, but at that moment, it felt like an opportunity to try my hand at something other than marketing. (Ha! Like any business isn’t at least 50% marketing.) I had no idea it would really become my next chapter, and something I’m so passionate about.
Biggest challenge: Having all the marketing and business knowledge to know all the things I need to do to grow and scale, without the budget I’ve been used to (or much of any budget, really) and without the time to execute it fast enough because I’m wearing every. single. hat. That, and of course, struggling every day with the voice in my head that says this could flop at any minute. Biggest win: Closing out 2021 with enough profit and confidence to know that in 2022, I’m “running a business”, not just “doing this thing, for now.” What inspires me: Seeing my small biz friends and other female founders kick ass. 100%. It’s my favorite, and it lights a fire in me. Their wins are proof that nothing is unreachable. And it makes me reach for more. Every single day.
